Lizzie loves her new Rainbow Brite doll as the mom I wholeheartedly approve of her playing with this colorful (and modest) doll.

I was born in 1984 and for whatever reason never watched nor owned any Rainbow Brite toys. My friends did and I loved playing with them.  The cheerful colors and the ponies were so much fun!  When I heard that Rainbow Brite was coming back (as all things from the 80s seem to be) I squealed with excitement!  Lizzie loves rainbows and dolls, what a perfect combo for her.  I was right. When the doll came in the mail Lizzie saw the doll and giggled in happiness. She keeps forgetting her name, however, so for now we just call her “Bah-bie.”

I tried to do Lizzie’s hair like Rainbow Brite’s, but unfortunately Lizzie doesn’t quite have enough! But Lizzie still had fun trying to look like her dolly.

Another thing I love about this doll – her shoes! They were kinda difficult to get on, but they stay on.  That is one more fail for Barbie and success for Rainbow!

All of the characters from the cartoon have been given makeovers and look a lot different from what we remember as kids. But they still have their cheerful colors and happy ponies. Thank goodness, I love those ponies!

These lovely dolls are currently available at Target and soon will be at Toys R Us!

I have to admit, my favorite one is Tickled since I adore the color pink! I also think her pigtails are way too cute.
