I have been blessed!
Just today I was sitting down to write another review and giveaway post, but I couldn’t get past how blessed I am. Nine years ago I was a senior in high school and living 35 minutes from home on 20 acres with 2 kids (one on the way) was not how I envisioned my life. But I also didn’t know how fulfilling and adventurous this kind of life would be!
I think it is healthy for people to “count your blessings” as the old hymn goes. For me, it keeps the “sorry for myself” feelings at bay and gives me joy and renewed energy for my role as Josh’s wife and Lizzie and David’s mom. Plus, I just love thinkin’ about how blessed I am.
I am blessed with
JOSH
I was running into issues with my blog (See my weekend update post) and was really feeling discouraged. I told Josh that maybe I should cut back to part time blogging. He turned to me and said, “Annie, I know how much joy blogging and writing gives you. And you are good at it. In time others will see that and you will be one of the most widely read bloggers out there. Don’t cut back now. It will drive you crazy and you enjoy it too much. We’ll work it out so you don’t have to cut back.” He is also cheering me on every time I make money selling an ad or I get something to review. He is so excited for my Type A Mom blog conference and keeps talking to me about who I will meet there and what awesome things it will do for my blog.
Ever since I met him he has believed in me and been my biggest fan. I will tell him my limits as a stay at home mom and he will leave work early to relieve me if I call him with an “SOS.” (Moms, you know those moments!)
He also works so hard for us, creating a life so that I can stay home. He believes that I am the best caregiver for our children (and this belief helps me on days that I don’t exactly have the faith in my abilities).
David
What a laid back boy! Sure he screams bloody murder when he doesn’t get his way but he can entertain himself with toys and books longer than Lizzie could at this age. And he (usually) sleeps very well. He is full of joy, curiosity, love and fun! Life would be so dull without him. I can’t wait to see his personality continue to develop, I know I will have my hands full as he gets older but it will be so much fun!
Lizzie
She is so sweet, loving and cautious. Her imagination is blossoming and makes me smile every time I hear her stories with her dolls. I couldn’t have asked for a more devoted little girl. She is not rebellious or headstrong. I really have it easy with Lizzie and David. My days are more filled with laughter than screams and fits (even though there are plenty of those!)
How have you been blessed? We have got to focus on the good things in life to get us through the muck.

Sometimes we lose sight of how blessed we really are, but all it takes is a few moments to reflect and it’s amazing how lucky we really are.
What a great list…not braggy in the least. You are right, it’s very important to count your blessings!
Annie,
You are so awesome!! Thanks for the great reminder.
