7 Link Challenge on my Blogiversary!

Happy Blogiversary to me!! Exactly 1 year ago this month I started my blog at Mama-Dweeb.blogspot.com and here I am today. I was going to do something fun to celebrate and kept forgetting.  But then some friends of mine read an article on Problogger about the “7 Link Challenge” and I thought it looked like a super fun way to introduce you to some new blogs AND a way to show you some of my older articles.

I saw it on Tesa’s blog “2 Wired 2 Tired” and thought, “Hey, I can do this!” So I did! Her post is really great, check it out!

So, before I start, here are the rules to the 7 Link Challenge. (Oh! And feel free to join in the fun! I have a linky below where you can place the URL to your 7 link post too!)

The idea is to publish a post that is a list of 7 links to posts that you and others have written that respond to the following 7 categories. Your links should be to:

• Your first post
• A post you enjoyed writing the most
• A post which had a great discussion
• A post on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written
• Your most helpful post
• A post with a title that you are proud of
• A post that you wish more people had read

1. My first post – This was written July 11th and was an introduction to why I had the blogger blog and what I was planning to do with it. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I was going to be this busy with it today!
2. A Post I Enjoyed Writing – This was really hard to chose from! I adore writing and enjoy just about all my personal posts.  But this particular post is called “How Green Are you?” And dove into my evolution into eco-consciousness and asked my readers how dedicated to being green they were.  I still feel the same way today – I am green to save money, not the environment.
3. Post that caused a great discussion – This post had pages and pages of comments!  It is “Goodmama vs. Nifty Nappy Diapers” and I quickly discovered how loyal people are to their favorite fitted diapers! I put no opinions in the piece, just showed the differences and still I had people talking about how one is better than the other or one has worse customer services…..it got pretty heated but then (my favorite part!) Suzanne, the creator of Goodmama and Vilate, the creator of Nifty Nappy, began to talk to each other in the comments and discovered they live close to each other! They are now friends because of me!
4. A Post I Wish I Had Written -  This post is called “Mom Sexy Is Not a Number” by one of my favorite bloggers, “The Mommyologist.” She inspires me to love myself just the way God made me, and not wish to be a certain weight or have the certain “look.” It is a very moving article and I believe you will like it too!
5. A Very Helpful Post – I wrote a tutorial for how to make your own cloth wipes solution and had so many people say thank you.  It was a pretty good feeling
6. Title I am Proud Of -  I don’t do titles. Even in college when I worked on the university newspaper all my headline suggestions were re-written for lack of creativity.  But I thought “What’s That Smell? The Car Seat Must be Expired” was pretty creative.
7. Post I wish more people had read – This one is called “Jell-O Dreams” and I thought the title was creative but the post itself was very introspective and inspiring. I wrote it when I was just starting out, it only has 2 comments so I don’t know how many people read it. But I am so proud of it!
