The Kolcraft Contours Lite Stroller is a durable, convenient and lightweight stroller that folds up easily and handles very well.
With a retail price of $99 (and only $60 on Amazon) it is a very affordable option for parents that are seeking an easy to use light weight stroller that works with small children and toddlers alike.
It has a thin body when compared with my other stroller. The snack tray unhooks for easy access to the seat. For safety there is a 5 pt harness (although the chest clips are belly height). The chest straps have removable pads for baby’s comfort. Beneath the stroller is a very large basket – I will show you below how full we were able to stuff it without hurting the stroller. The canopy has three size adjustments.
Unlike my other stroller (a Graco) you do not fold the stroller by twisting a button on the handle. To fold the Contours Lite Stroller, simply find the orange levers near the canopy and lift them up. The stroller automatically folds up! There is an orange handle that locks the back wheels to the front. Once that safety handle is in place you can move the folded stroller from car to house with one hand.
This feature is not quite so obvious. There is a bright orange button beneath the joint where the snack tray connects to the stroller. Push the knob in/up and it frees the tray so you can put the baby in the stroller easier. The button is small and not obvious – I have had to explain to people how to remove the tray as it is slightly hidden underneath.
This is how it looks all folded up. It takes up very little room in my trunk and I like how light it is and easy to put in and out of my car by myself. I did not compare the folded up size to any other stroller but must admit I was hoping it would fold up a tiny bit thinner.
Josh is 6’2 and this is how it looks when he pushed it around. Josh was hoping it would be a smidge taller but he enjoys the fact that it is a comfortable height – unlike our super short umbrella stroller. David is not buckled in and while he didn’t slip much you can see that the buckles are very needed. We had that basket stuffed full! It was a small town fall festival and in the basket is my purse, the diaper bag, and a bag full of books from the library. Unlike my Graco stroller, the Kolcraft Lite’s basket does not fold down which I was relieved to discover. I was always slightly annoyed with a basket that folded down since it would unhinge unexpectedly.
Overall I am loving this stroller! I love the bright orange canopy – I was able to spot Josh in a large sea of strollers. Lizzie was able to fit in it, even if her legs were almost too long for it, she just put them on the footrest. It folds up easier than any other stroller I have used and does not feel bulky when maneuvering through the store. I wish it folded up smaller, but that is the only complaint I have.
