The SanDisk Sansa Fuze + mp3 player is an affordable gift idea for the pre teen or older person on your list. What sets this player apart from other players is not only the affordable price (8GB is only $80 at Toys R Us) but are the slot radio micro SD cards you can put in them. Slot radio cards preloaded with 1,000 songs and sell for only $40 online. They are sold in genre groupings. For example, if you like rock you can choose from a Billboard 80’s rock card, 90s rock, alternative, classic and lots more. I love the slot radio cards because it saves time downloading but also saves money. You end up only paying about 4 cents per song this way!
I mainly listened to the slot radio card and played around on the player for my review.
I discovered that the battery life is not as long lasting as my iPod. I also noticed that the screen itself is not touch screen, you use the pad below. The control pad is not as responsive as my iPod. It only works with PCs, which in my book is a drawback. I’m an apple girl, can ya tell?
I have been an iPod user for 4 years now, so that is all I know. But the iPod does not have the Slot Radio feature and is a much higher price point. I like the size of this player and how it isn’t bulky. I also love the fun colors it comes in – isn’t this purple so fun?
I recommend this player for pre teens and above since the control pad is not super simple to use. But I also suggest that moms purchase this one as their mp3 player to keep around for young children like toddlers and preschoolers to watch videos on. Since it is a lower price point it isn’t as stressful when it drops and moms don’t have to be watching super close when their little ones use it.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of SanDisk and received the SanDisk Sansa Fuze+ and VH1 slotRadio Card to facilitate my review.
