This is fun! I am joining my friends on a few other blogs and seeing what we all sound like! Here is my video – it was my first time recording straight to YouTube, so it is kinda funny as I try to figure it out
And you should join us! Basically, you just read out loud the words listed below my video. Then, you answer the questions as well. It is very fun to hear what words sound like from other people in other parts of the country and to hear what they call different things. One blogger calls a shopping cart a buggy, I think it’s cute and fun and will try and make that what we call it here in Kansas!
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped
body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry
groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Other blogs with Dialect Vlogs:
Pickles & Paisleys
Little BGCG
She’s Mommafied
Mommy Boots
Daddy Green’s Pride
Now you! If you did one I want to go and hear how you say these things, this is really tons of fun for me. I love hearing all the different ways to say these words. So record your short video and put your link here:

I played too and linked up!
This was pretty awesome…. I linked up!
CJR @ The Mommy Blog
I think you have a great dialect, one in which would fit well in Tennessee.
Thanks for stoppin’ by Carrigan’s Joy, and yes, that is still my Christmas table cloth…I like to break a few norms at times, which is my way of saying I’m lazy.
Enjoy your weekend and I’ll send ya some Spring weather!
So much fun! I linked up
I’m gonna try to vlog this today — I think this is such a fun little “meme.”
This is so fun!
I know so many people who call all soda “Coke”…it’s not that uncommon here in Utah.
I just posted my video…I’m off to go visit everyone!

Gosh, who knew listening to myself would be so painful? LOL Need to practice it more. Or maybe not. I definitely need a camera and should NOT use the Droid! What bad quality. Oh well, I did it and it’s posted.
This is so fun! I love that you call all soda/pop coke. I would always think you just wanted a coke if you said that.
Thanks for the fun post, joined in.
I just added mine from west Texas!
I’ve loved hearing everyone’s voice. So much fun!
It took me forever to get this done and uploaded after watching everyones (I’m so new at vlogging), but I finally got it done because I had SO much fun watching these.
This was such a great idea… LOVED IT!!!
You are too adorable, no accent.
Ooooh I might do this later…is it too late?
OK so I just realized that I’m waaaay late in this lol-you should do it again (with different words or something)…I’d feel like a goober doing it now lol.
It’s a week late, but I finally did it!
I am so happy you did this again – it’s a blast! I will try to think of some words for you. My mom was from Mississippi, so I’m sure I can come up with a few
Thanks Annie!
Aww, this would have been fun. Are you going to have another one soon?
This was so much fun! I’m a little late joining in, but I’m glad I found you!
