There is a reason the word “adorable” is in the name AdoraDolls! These squishy little dolls with their rosy cheeks and bright eyes are precious. Soon as we got it in the mail, Lizzie could not wait to open it. She loves dolls – her favorite thing is to imitate how I mother Lucy by carrying her dolls in a sling and soothing their cries.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the smell – like sweet baby powder! This is a simple doll – no mechanical cries or batteries required. Love that part! Lizzie will pretend it is crying and pat her back, “its ok baby.” Really, it melts my heart.
Here is the AdoraDoll compared to another doll Lizzie owns. (She was making them hold hands for the photo, too sweet!) As you can see, they are about the same size. The AdoraDoll is slightly thinner in frame, but they can share clothes. The AdoraDoll has a much prettier face though. I love the rosey cheeks and the brightness of the eyes!
I was slightly disappointed that it came with a bottle though. This is a personal value of mine – it is just slightly frustrating when baby dolls are sold with bottles. It sends the message to little girls that babies drink from bottles, when in reality most babies do not. Maybe AdoraDolls could take the bottles out of the doll packaging and sell it in an accessories kit? I am all for that!
However, that minor frustration does not do a thing to deter me from suggesting you check out this brand of dolls! They are gorgeous and make a perfect gift for any child.
The AdoraDolls line sells more than just baby dolls! They also sell collectible, handmade dolls. These are exquisite! I cannot allow Lizzie to read this blog post or go to their site, she will want every single one of their Wizard of Oz dolls. Aren’t they amazing? They are $60 each, so I doubt we will just go and buy them all at once, but they sure would make a good Christmas gift each year.
If you are going to BlogHer, AdoraDolls will be there too! Tweet with them @AdoraDolls for more info!
You can shop AdoraDolls online – the baby dolls Lizzie reviewed is available for $25 on their store.
I received a doll to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% mine.
