The home-party or direct sales business model is a perfect one for people that want to earn an income and set their own hours. Now there is a brand new business on the scene owned by Dove chocolates – Dove Chocolate Discoveries.

I get invited to lots of fun home parties – make up, food, jewelry, toys and bags – but I have never had one that is all about chocolate. A gal can make a good living selling her friends and their friends tons of  yummy Dove chocolates.

The products in the catalog are full of variety (and the yumminess you know from the Dove name).  From fondu to chocolate martini mix – a Dove Chocolate Discoveries party will be one you won’t have a hard time getting friends to go to.

Fudgy Brownie Mix - just add eggs & butter!

I was sent the starter kit and wow! It is a ton of chocolate!

This kit is only $160 and has enough products to get you through about 6 parties.  Then, as you sell you earn “Dove dollars” that go towards more chocolate in addition to your income. My favorite thing in this kit is the box of Milk Chocolate covered cashews and Dark chocolate covered almonds. If I signed up as a consultant I’d probably have to order a few more boxes of those to take to parties.

Not only do you get the solid Dove chocolate name behind the products but these products are only available through a chocolatier. This helps  your business be even more successful.

I tried to sell Discovery Toys before and really enjoyed the income potential I had. My struggle with that was convincing people not to bring their kids and enjoy a “girl’s night” to see the educational toys. I bet with Dove Discoveries it won’t be hard to convince your girlfriends to come over, enjoy some free chocolate martinis and gooey brownies!

Doesn’t this sound fun?

Tell Dove Discoveries your thoughts on their Facebook page.  And I’d love to talk to you about chocolate all day too – one of my favorite topics! Chat with me on my facebook page too!

If you are curious about starting your own Dove Discoveries business you can do so on their site – or win your starter kit here on my blog!

*Note: winning a starter kit does not mean you have to sell chocolates or join the Dove team. You can enter and win a huge box of chocolate supplies and eat it all by yourself if you want. Or you can win a starter kit and be on your way to earning more money!

Win it!

One Mama Dweeb reader will win their very own starter kit with everything you see pictured below!

Now that is a Mom business I could get into! I am not usually big on selling things, but this would be a really fun and different approach. This is not the usual home party idea.

I love Dove Discoveries! I can’t imagine how any event involving delicious chocolate wouldn’t be fun. However, I don’t see myself as a consultant–only a consumer :)
    Thanks for the giveaway.

You had me at chocolate!!! It sounds like a ton of fun.

It’s very ironic because I was just thinking the other day about how my youngest is old enough that I could handle doing some sort of direct business.

I think it is an interesting concept and for sure has potential. Chocolate sells- no matter what the economy, it sells. Can I see being part of the team? Perhaps… after I examine it further!

  7. Pauline Milner says

I think being part of Dove Discoveries would be a great experience. Everyone I know would love to come to a chocolate party and I am sure they would make purchases. I think it would be quite an easy way to supplement you income as once they try Dove Chocolate, as I have, they will definitely be enticed to buy some to have at home.

Thanks for offering this great giveaway opportunity. ~Pauline (dod@rogers.com)

I only recently heard of Dove’s home business opportunities and I’m really intrigued. I’m very interested in learning more about it. Everyone (ok…MOST everyone) loves chocolate so I think this could be a really fun way to earn some extra income.

Chocolate as a Home Business? Really? What a great idea for someone that has a lot of friends. Yes, it is a great idea. I don’t know if it is for me but a great idea for someone who works in an office.

I love chocolate, especially Dove chocolate. I don’t think I would do well with the home business part because I’m not that great with selling things plus I would probably just eat all the samples and stuff.

What better way to bring happiness to people because of the goodness that chocolate is and the good health properties that chocolate has.

I never thought of selling dove, we have a lot of people around us that sell just about everything but this is new. I think it would be fun to try out, and great for us military (army) wives. Moving and the messed up hours wouldn’t hurt this job.

  16. Jessica T. says

I think most everyone loves chocolate and this sounds like a great work from home job.

I’m not the at home business kind of gal. But I do love me some chocolate.

My mom has been very successful with a home-based business direct sales model. The key is to find one featuring a product you can really get behind. And hello? Chocolate? LOVE IT.

  23. Eileen says

I think it might be fun to do this venture. If not for a business, to get my foot in the door with the products to gift. I do lots of candy and chocolates for the holidays for the past 30 years and people always say could make it into a business. I dont know if I could go at it very well though due to some health issues and a busy life with family. Thanks so much! LOVE Dove products!

  24. Tammi Friedrich says

My husband and I lost our jobs in June and did not qualify for unemployment. Luckily my husband found a job quickly but I haven’t had much luck. (maybe a blessing in disguise:) I love being a stay at home mommy but also need some “adult time”. I’ve done home parties in the past and love the fellowship, friendship and building relationships with people who are as passionate about a product as I am. What could you be more passionate about than chocolate?:) My problem is I don’t have the start-up money to get started. I’d love to try this. I love cooking with chocolate, I make chocolate candies for every holiday, even if it’s just using candy molds. I recently heard about Dove home parties and googled it to get more info. I’d love to be a new member of your team. I’m in central Ohio and have not heard of anyone else in this area doing these parties so I think they would be a huge success. Thanks for listening:) Tammi

I think it sounds fun, but probably not something I would do… mainly because I really want to lose weight, and with zero will power, having this stuff in the house would blow it for me. =)

I think it would be hard at first but, as a college student, it’s something that would fit in my schedule and help bring in some (very much needed) income!
