Meet my 2 biggest fitness and healthy-living inspirations. As I become stronger, as I eat cleaner and work my body to the core, I indirectly teach them how to have the best life.
Josh and I have differences of opinions on the food issue. Not major issues – he lets me do all the cooking and grocery shopping, he just jokes around. He doesn’t believe that processed foods can negatively effect children. He grew up on cereal and chips (and veggies too) and he thinks they will be just fine. But he also supports my clean meals and active lifestyle.
I am so blessed to live in the digital age. It is a blessing and a curse. I have access to loads of free, healthy recipes on Pinterest. I can track my calories with My Fitness Pal. And YouTube is my favorite place to learn how to do different exercises or find music videos to dance to with my kids (yay free cardio!)
Already they are changing and growing healthier! David and Lucy love to go on walks with me to check the mail. They fight over raw broccoli and prefer to eat carrots like rabbits, not the baby carrots. My personal favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs.
But I have my work cut out for me. They also really love sugary cereals and gummy fruit snacks. I constantly struggle with Lizzie demanding Lunchables instead of my home made lunches. (Again, Pinterest for the win. I have seen some super cute lunches that I will try to make. Maybe if they make her smile to look at she will love them more). I’ve noticed when we all eat right, we are all in better moods and way less crabby. So I totally have a huge short-term motivation too.
