I shop online. A lot. It is so easy for me – but one thing I do not have time for is comparing prices, coming back and watching for it to go on sale. This usually means that I end up either paying more for something than I have to or not buying it at all.
I found a new social sharing site that is like Pinterest but it also emails you when the items you put in your collection go on sale! It is LightFish.Net. Sign in with Facebook or Twitter or Google (this helps you share what you find with your network of friends), then drag the “Hook” bookmarklet to your browser’s shortcut bar. (Think the “pin it” button, just like it!) Then, as you browse Amazon, Zappos, Toys R Us, and other stores, when you find something you want to buy, click the “hook” and it will bookmark that site! The minute it goes on sale, you will be notified via email.
And for all you organization freaks out there, you can sort your products, just like on Pinterest. And you can share your finds with your friends too. I can see this being extra helpful during a planning a wedding – everyone can see the shoes and accessories they are buying and all wait for it to go on sale together.
Here is a screenshot of a featured collection on the LightFish community page. This is a “Star Wars Collection.” See how it is displayed like Pinterest? Easy to see and navigate. And when something goes on sale it is displayed on the collection so others can benefit too.
So my online shopping friends – what do you think? Is this site something you might use to save money?
I was compensated for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

I have SO been looking for something like this. Thanks Annie!
Is it a free site? because I might use it around Christmas time or birthdays to keep an eye on things if it was free, but I can’t afford to pay out for any ‘online’ stuff. For me it’s all about free shipping, and discounts. Stuff is hard enough to pay for as it is, I can’t just start adding subscriptions to find sales on top of it.. wow that was really convoluted, but I hope it makes sense.
Yes, it is free, no sign up fees or anything at all. And I totally understand your concern about paying for a service like this.
It really does look helpful! I am the same – I usually pick something out and either I don’t have time to check if the price changes each day or I just forget about it. Haha, as you already know, I could use EVERY advice on organising
OMG this is genius. I also do not have time to bargain shop. When I shop, I know what I want, and I almost always buy it at the wrong time. This would be perfect for me, especially now that I need to buy my son a whole wardrobe in the next size up. Thanks!!
Same here! I do not have time to keep going back and seeing if stuff goes on sale. LOVE this app!
Wow – it’s about time someone came up with something like this
