Hi! Last year I hosted a give away for a Diaper Daisy gift card. Beth Rees won it and was ecstatic! (Who wouldn’t be?) But she was extra happy because she is expecting a baby soon and – hello – free fluff for baby! When I found out she lives close to the store, I asked if she would like to share her thoughts of the store with you. She agreed. She recently visited Diaper Daisy and took some pictures. If you are looking for a Kansas City cloth diaper store, Diaper Daisy is fantastic! Like Diaper Daisy on Facebook and chat with them on Twitter. Thank you Beth for this post!
As soon as I found out I had won the gfitcard to Diaper Daisy, I have to admit I was giddy with excitement. In the Kansas City area, we have a few cloth diapering businesses, but most are open by appointment or have closed. I was so excited when I found out a new natural baby store was opening a brick and mortar store nearby that would have regular business hours!
Although I was wanting to go immediately, I was wanting to wait until I was through the morning sickness period so I could enjoy the experience (why they call it morning sickness when it last 24/7 is beyond me ).
I was finally able to persuade my husband into accompanying me to the store with our kids and I was in love as soon as I walked into the store. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with pops of color everywhere. The decor is very welcoming and makes you want to just look and touch everything, which in all honesty is one of my favorite features of the store. I love having the ability to actually see and experiment with products that I can’t find anywhere else but online.
As you walk in, there are a variety of products including maternity clothing, maternity care, a variety of babywearing products, and natural baby toys as well. As you walk further in, there were amber teething necklaces, diaper balms, diaper sprayers, etc. In the back of the store, was my favorite part. A wall of fluff! I There were tons of choices and different brands as well as a used section.
I also have to mention another fabulous feature I was not expecting, but for moms who have mobile children, a very welcome feature. They had they cutest, seriously the cutest, little play area for little ones. Not only did it have a variety of toys, but there was a little tree hideaway in the wall where the kiddos could climb through a tunnel in the wall! My kids absolutely loved it, and it was gated in with a cute picket fence! Definitely allowed me some stressfree shopping!
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and welcomed to the store. The staff was not only helpful, but so personable. Giving me not only different options for what I was wanting, but also the pros and cons of the options. I loved how they weren’t pushy and let me explore, but still where there if I had any questions at all. Since we have a new little one coming, I decided on some Thirsties covers, some used newborn prefolds (these were actually from a diaper laundry service in town that was done using them and had fantastic prices on them), and a swim diaper for one of my older children this summer.
The only product that I wold have loved to have seen were more options of hemp and bamboo inserts. The store had hosted a class prior to our arrival and said they were pretty picked over.
I will be back to shop there. If nothing else for their customer service! I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to their staff and I love how they made everything so simple even for those in the store that were just exploring cloth. I am so glad we have such a quality, well-run store in the Kansas City area!
