Lizzie is almost six years old. June will be here way too fast! I refuse to even think of how she will be in first grade next fall. Nope. She is still in kindergarten and she will stay little for as long as I can keep her that way. David is shooting up like a weed! He is hitting his growth spurt – and not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I am so proud of how empathetic he is with his sisters and how fast he is learning how to help his dad in small projects. And baby Lucy…don’t even get me started. My last little baby. She just turned two years old. Thankfully, she still talks in baby talk, so I can still hold on to a teeny bit of baby-ness from her. But it won’t be long…
I am so glad that I took videos of the everyday times. I would just put the computer somewhere and turn on the webcam and let it record. Or I’d use my iPhone and snap a video of the kids just being themselves as we do our normal things. Capturing them as they were. Because someday, I want to see them just sitting. Remember the tiny details, like how baby David used to wind his hands before reaching for a ball. Or like how Lizzie used to talk in a very high pitched voice, ending all phrases with the tilt of a question.
Those tiny moments, they are the ones that enhance the flavors of my memories, helping the full flavor – the entire memory – to bloom in my mind.
I don’t ever want to lose these memories. I am going to save them multiple places. My computer, another hard drive, and – so I can watch them whenever I want – a DVD. I am so thankful for YesVideo. I can just send them my movies and they do they hard work of burning it to DVD for me.
Here is a clip I made of some of my favorite every day moments. The ones I do miss, and enjoy reliving again, and again.
What are you favorite every day memories?
