I finally got a date night with Josh!! I tell you – date nights are just crazy difficult to pull together! First, we had a super hard time finding childcare. From one person working to another person being in sports to another person saying “actually I need childcare, can you watch mine?” (um say what?) I was getting frustrated. I had a Longhorn Steakhouse gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I seriously needed to talk to Josh without a kid going “can you help me get that mod in Minecraft?”
Then, we found a babysitter! I grabbed my gift card, put on a super cute sweater and necklace (I was dressed up fancy) and ran out the door!
Special thanks to Mom Spark for this date night! I received a LongHorn Steakhouse gift card for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.
Longhorn Steakhouse just recently came to Manhattan, KS. I’ve eaten there a time or two before, so on our way, my moth was watering just thinking of the juicy steaks, fresh veggies and crazy amazing desserts. Yum yum yummmm!!!
I ordered a delicious salad for my starter then the new Porcini Portabella Ribeye with a side of creamy brussel sprouts. Basically, it is ribeye rubbed with porcini dust, brushed with balsamic butter sauce and topped with a cedar-grilled portabella. A.MAZING!
Josh ordered sweet potato and a super juicy steak. For dessert I had the most amazing and intoxicatingly sweet pumpkin pie lava cake!
Everything tasted amazing – except the brussel sprouts. I don’t think they were cooked long enough because they were pretty tough/crunchy. But the sweet potato and steaks? To. Die. For. And I want to go back just for the pumpkin pie spice cake
I just learned that Longhorn Steakhouse uses fresh – never frozen – steaks! So that is probably why they were so juicy and filled with flavor.
I sipped my martini, Josh his beer. We rehashed the week, said “oh Hi! It is nice to talk to you face to face.” Amazing how hard it is to just talk with small children around. Then we just spilled our plans for the week. This date night was relaxing and I really wish we could go out more. Currently, we date about once a month. Then, we only have like 90 minutes to talk (if you take into account drive time) and we try to cram the past month, the current week and the future month and some jokes all into 90 minutes. We need to just do a weekly date night.
Where do you go on date nights?
