Last week I joined six other bloggers, a registered dietician and a chef with the Kansas Farm Bureau and Kansas Soybean Commission on a tour of farms across Kansas. It was amazing. We saw a small basil and herb farm, a pig farm, a larger beef and crop farm, organic non-GMO milo (sorghum) farm, and a large dairy farm.
We also ate at locally owned Kansas restaurants and toured a local winery. It was fabulous and reminded me why I love this state. Because of the people.
I was able to attend the tour with several other local bloggers – be sure to check out social media (search for the hashtag #FarmFoodTour) and their blogs for other recaps and perspectives of the Kansas Farm Food Tour:

I share a bunch of my favorite photos on Wednesday, I hope you enjoyed them! Here is another one below:
My mind is completely full. Full of information. Full of appreciation for the hard work and extensive knowledge that goes into growing the food I eat. Full of all the different ways farmers can grow this food and how much extensive care the farmers I met take for their animals and crops. Full of a huge vocabulary I am not familiar with.
And even better? Thanks to this trip I know to whom to ask every question I (or you) come up with!
I am working very hard on a post about this trip. But for now, I have a Kansas Gift Basket to give away!
We get to share a little bit of Kansas with you! Each blogger on the tour gets to give away 1 basket filled with goodies from Kansas (a $100 value), so that’s 7 baskets up for grabs.
