Which brand of tea has been around London since 1706? Even older than our lovely country?
This post is brought to you by the genius tea crafters at Twinnings Tea. This was one of the most rewarding and relaxing posts to write. Because tea. TEA. It’s a delicate concoction of dreamy ingredients. I’m amazed at how the smells and combinations can create different experiences and remedy different maladies.
As I boil the water and pour it in my cup, I open the tea bag. I inhale the aroma, then gently drop the bag into my cup. I habitually bob the bag up and down, holding the cup in my hands as the warmth flows from my fingers to my arms to my body. When my tea is dark enough, I pull out the tea bag and just hold it under my nose. The steam lifts the aroma over my cheeks and through my senses. My muscles relax, I take my first sip. This is me time. This is bliss.
I’ve heard of others putting milk and sugar in their tea. I prefer just a little dollop of honey, no milk or cream.
Twinnings Tea has a library of flavors and infusions available. Choosing one to drink is my favorite difficult decision to make every day. I usually decide based on emotion. Am I super exhausted and stressed? Chamomile is the prescription. Am I feeling feisty? A fruity combination is perfect. Do I need help waking up? Can’t go wrong with Earl Grey – a classic!
HOW DO YOU BREW TEA?
I put my cup under my Keurig, fill it with hot water, then seep my tea.
My friend used to boil water in a kettle on her stove. I love this idea and have wanted to purchase a tea kettle just for this reason.
Before I had a kettle I used to heat up a mug of water in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
But you know how I’d love to have my tea brewed? In a fancy tea pot, served to me in a delicate china cup when I ring a bell and the butler brings it in. Imagine, a Mr. Carter overseeing my household as I relax and worry about the trials of earning enough money to keep them on staff.
Imagine, this tea, served by my staff.
I hear my kids fighting in the other room…*poof* dream gone. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’d want the drama of the staff in my home. (Although Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes do an amazing job of containing that drama) I’ll just continue to revel in my peaceful few moments with my Twinnings Tea in my own little imperfect Kansas paradise.
