I have a passion for helping stop hunger and provide food for hungry children. My own history with visiting food pantries for food as a child propel my desire to help children facing similar challenges.
And I was so excited to tell you about the Truvia brand’s “Sharing A Sweet Future” Program the first time. It began in 2012 and now I have more news about all the children and families they have helped!
Through its 3-year partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, the Truvia brand has:
- Improved school meals for over 67,000 Bolivian schoolchildren
- Installed 258 energy efficient stoves
- Supplied 130 metric tons of fortified vegetable oil to cook 2 school meals per day.
This makes me so happy!
Here’s a brief refresher. “Sharing a Sweet Future” is a three-year partnership between Truvia and the United Nations World Food Programme that aims to combat childhood hunger in Bolivia.
The program helps to fight hunger in Bolivia by enhancing access to nutrition with micronutrient packets. The program also seeks to decrease health risks for families by establishing safer cooking conditions by providing clean stoves.
Here is a video showing what they did and how they did it! It’s amazing!
Better nutrition and a safer way to cook – I am all for this!
The 3 year program just wrapped up and I have an infographic sharing all the details of what was accomplished. I have always admired how much Truvia gives back, but this still took my breath away. I am amazed at how much good the brand did in Bolivia in 3 short years.
