Riling up bloggers like Scary Mommy and vloggers like Jessica Gottleib.  Check out twitter hashtag #MomEnough – we moms are not going to let this topic divide us anymore. I support moms that love their children and sacrifice themselves to nurture and raise them.

I am sorry if I ever said anything that made a mom feel not good enough. We are our worst critics! And when we hear other moms voicing our worst fears – that we are not doing a good enough job – we crumble inside.

So STOP! Love yourself. You are good enough. And support every other mom around you.

I overcame a fear of mine – approaching strangers – and asked moms in the Chicago O’Hare Airport to share why they are mom enough. The video gives me chills and I hope it encourages you today!

I’m a blusher. And an awkward talker. When something embarrassing happens to me, I cringe and start talking really fast about some random topic, hoping and praying to distract people from what just happened. Then, like maybe 6 months later, I look back and roll my eyes at how pathetic I was to let that get to me so much.

Erin from A Parenting Production asked the Vlog Mom ladies to share an embarrassing moment. I had some doozies happen to me in middle and high school.  There were those times in college I thought I was funny but everyone thought I was a serious lunatic. And, just like you, I’ve gone up to people and started talking excitedly, only to find out they were a complete stranger. Thank you Erin, for allowing me to relive these moments of horror.

This week, I am sharing a delightful episode that occurred when I, as a new mom, hosted my first large baby shower.  Let’s just say it involves baby Lizzie’s projectile vomit. Good times.

This week for Vlog Mom, Julie Pron from Just Precious asked the ladies to go political. Last week was all fun and celebrities, today we are putting our thinking caps on and being a tad more serious.

Which to me, is just as fun. I love a serious debate. I really love thinking critically about issues that affect me and my friends. Here in Kansas there is a bill before our lawmakers. They are deciding whether to allow retail stores like Wal-mart to sell liquor.

Some say, “keep the money in Kansas! Let them sell it so we can have more tax dollars.”

I say, if you let the retail stores sell the liquor then small business owners will not be able to compete and they will face harder seasons. Harder times. Since my husband owns a small business I am always defending small biz owners. It hurts my heart to think of Wal-mart getting richer while “The Fridge” liquor store has to close their doors.

I really love my job. I love blogging and social media with all my heart. There is no way I would be half as happy nor fulfilled if I quit, turned off my internet and sold my iPhone and focused 100% on just being at home. I am sorry, it is not going to happen.

I would get depressed. I’d feel like I lost a limb – I would certainly be losing my creative expression and lose touch with tons of friends.

But there is one slight problem with working at home and being a mom of small children: the balance. When I focus on my blog, the house chores suffer. Dishes pile up, laundry overtakes my room. So then I attack my house and then I miss deadlines or I don’t interact with my followers on facebook and twitter.

It is very difficult. Very.

I started to implement of schedule during the day. I only spend 5-10 minute spurts online – a facebook comment here, a tweet there, a blog comment or two – then I am off and doing chores and playing with kids. It worked fabulously until Josh started to work 80 hours a week. I lost my evening work time. The blog started to suffer.

Then, so did the house.

Cycle continued.

Finally, he began to come home early one night a week and I pre-wrote posts, scheduling them to publish throughout the week.

This works really well for me. But what else can I do to balance life more?

Hi! It is time for the third installment of Vlog Moms!  A small group of bloggers are all flexing their vlogging skills by answering one small prompt each week. I hope you enjoy my video this week. I added a bit of music to make it more fun. But I am on the fence about it. I wonder if it made it obnoxious.

Theresa of Rock On Mommies asked the Vlog Moms: “What is the best and worst parenting advice you received while pregnant?”

My answer:

Worst: Just let your baby cry! She is manipulating you and if you hold her every time she cries you will be spoiling her.
That advice just didn’t work for me or Lizzie. Tried it for 4 months. Then I gave up and just started to nurse on demand and co sleep and we all got sleep and peace once again!

Best: Parent from your gut and your heart.
Yes! Finally! When I started to parent the way Lizzie needed me to and the way that kept me the most even-keeled, life was happy!

For those of you who cannot watch the video, here is basically what I shared.

I vowed to stop myself from comparing my life, my family and myself to other people. I won’t compare my blog to anyone’s except my own. I refuse to compare my house or my life to anyone else because they are not me. Comparing to others always leads to despair and unhappiness. I do not need that! So how am I doing with that? So far really good! I had a few times where I really wanted to compare and I stopped myself. It has led to less anxiety and overall more contentment.

My other goal, as every year, is eat healthier and get fit. I want to say loose weight because over the winter Josh worked a ton and I gained 10 lbs.  How am I doing? Fantastic! I joined a gym and started to eat more whole foods and less crap. I am eating less dairy, less red meats and a ton more fresh veggies and fruits and whole grains. I feel 100% better, have a ton more energy and I believe this is a lifestyle I can live!

  I know I shouldn’t, but I do it while I drive.

What does that phrase bring to mind for you?

I have a sister-in-law that is very safe when she drives. She doesn’t even turn on the radio – it is all eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. I wish I could be more like her.  But currently, I am not.

The other day I had the extreme privelege of doing some errands by myself, so I did what any mom vlogger would do – I vlogged!

And I shared my dirty secrets. The things I do when I drive. And so you know, I always try to lessen distractions, because driving distractions can be deadly. But once in awhile I catch myself picking up my phone or drinking a pepsi.

My worst distraction of all though is when my kids are screaming in the car. I cannot drive like that, my nerves are on edge and I start to exceed the speed limit!
