This week I picked the topic – jobs in high school and college! So, what were YOUR jobs?

While in college I was:

Phew! And I know I am forgetting at least one of them.

For those of you who cannot watch the video, here is basically what I shared.

I vowed to stop myself from comparing my life, my family and myself to other people. I won’t compare my blog to anyone’s except my own. I refuse to compare my house or my life to anyone else because they are not me. Comparing to others always leads to despair and unhappiness. I do not need that! So how am I doing with that? So far really good! I had a few times where I really wanted to compare and I stopped myself. It has led to less anxiety and overall more contentment.

My other goal, as every year, is eat healthier and get fit. I want to say loose weight because over the winter Josh worked a ton and I gained 10 lbs.  How am I doing? Fantastic! I joined a gym and started to eat more whole foods and less crap. I am eating less dairy, less red meats and a ton more fresh veggies and fruits and whole grains. I feel 100% better, have a ton more energy and I believe this is a lifestyle I can live!

  I know I shouldn’t, but I do it while I drive.

What does that phrase bring to mind for you?

I have a sister-in-law that is very safe when she drives. She doesn’t even turn on the radio – it is all eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. I wish I could be more like her.  But currently, I am not.

The other day I had the extreme privelege of doing some errands by myself, so I did what any mom vlogger would do – I vlogged!

And I shared my dirty secrets. The things I do when I drive. And so you know, I always try to lessen distractions, because driving distractions can be deadly. But once in awhile I catch myself picking up my phone or drinking a pepsi.

My worst distraction of all though is when my kids are screaming in the car. I cannot drive like that, my nerves are on edge and I start to exceed the speed limit!

I am astonished at the level of awesome coming from my husband. He’s been coming home early, communicating, helping around the house. Just wow.

It’s been said that when you praise your significant other publicly, you think better of them in your head and end up treating them better. So take this opportunity to brag on your spouse with me!

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

This week I came up with the questions for Monday Mingle! It is a VLOG hop – but you don’t have to record a VLOG to join. I mean, you can answer the questions by writing them out on your blog. But VLOGGING is seriously fun, so get out your camera and link up with Jen at EightMPHmom.com

1. What do you do when your child refuses to eat what you made for dinner?
I don’t know, that is why I asked! I make what they want? Ugh.

2. How do you handle a grumpy kid in a grocery store?
We leave. Plain and simple. I don’t do shopping with grumpy kids. But I take all three kids to the store by myself and normally don’t have a problem. Normally.

3. Why is being a mom (or dad) the best thing ever?
Cause it is! because of all the hugs and kisses and laughter and memories.

Happy Monday everyone! So apparently July 4th is in like two weeks. That is un-stinking-real! I am trying to get used to the ridiculous heat. We have our sprinklers, our bounce house, and our sandbox is in the shade.

1. Have you put away the winter clothes until next year?
I put away my heavy jackets and heavy blankets. But I don’t have anywhere to store my winter clothes so the ones that still fit me are in my closet. The ones that my kids outgrew I had to give away because of our lack of storage spaces. I cannot wait for Josh to get this addition done!
2.  What is your typical daily summer attire?
A plain colored, fitted shirt and a pretty skirt! I adore skirts and shirts – breastfeeding friendly and much more flattering on my than shorts.
3. Finish this sentence… “Why is it that everytime I
Why is it that every time I wash wash clothes and towels they are the load I forget in the machine and discover after they stink of mildew? Please tell me I am not the only one that does this! No other load of laundry is forgotten, but for some weird reason I always forget my towels overnight and the next day I get so mad!

(btw: do you like how Lizzie has this “vanishing” act around the :54 mark? LOL!! That was because after I read the first question, she started to pester her little sister. I stopped the video and asked her to go play with David in the sandbox outside the front door. She did and I finished recording real quick. I love how it looks like she just *poofs* though!)
